With its rapidly growing trade volume, deep cultural heritage and the opportunities it offers to the business world, the People's Republic of China is increasingly chosen by Turkish citizens for both tourism and business travel. Chinese visa applications require careful preparation due to the scope of required documents and the mandatory biometric registration. What Is a Chinese Visa?

A Chinese visa is the official travel authorisation Turkish citizens need in order to enter the People's Republic of China for tourism, business, visits, study or transit. Visas are issued in different categories depending on the purpose of travel, and each category has its own document set. Applying under the correct category is decisive for a smooth process.

Main Visa Categories

  • L Visa (Tourist): For sightseeing, holidays and tourist visits.
  • M Visa (Business): For commercial meetings, trade fairs and business travel.
  • Q / S Visa (Visit): For visiting family members or relatives living in China.
  • X Visa (Study): For university and language education programmes.
  • G Visa (Transit): For passing through China to a third country.

Preparing a Tourist (L) Application

For tourist applications the consulate wants to see that your trip is genuinely touristic and that your ties to Türkiye are strong. Return flight reservations, hotel bookings covering the full stay and a day-by-day travel plan are therefore essential. Bank statements demonstrating financial sufficiency and documents proving your employment status further strengthen your file.

Business (M) Visa and Invitation

For business applications, the invitation letter issued by your counterpart company in China is the core element of the file. It must clearly state the purpose and duration of travel, the cities to be visited and who will cover the costs. On the Turkish side, your company's activity certificate, signature circular, tax certificate and commercial correspondence serve as supporting documents. An invitation that meets consular expectations in both content and format significantly reduces the risk of refusal.

Biometrics and Appointment

Fingerprint registration is mandatory for Chinese visa applications, so the applicant must attend the appointment in person. Appointments are booked through the Chinese Visa Application Centre and slots can fill up quickly in busy periods. We therefore recommend starting the process well before your travel date. We plan your appointment and submission on your behalf and verify that your file is complete before you go.

Common Mistakes

  • Incomplete or inconsistent travel history and address details on the application form.
  • Reservation dates that do not match the dates on the application form.
  • Invitation letters that are incomplete or out of date.
  • Biometric photos that do not meet consular standards.
  • Bank statements insufficient to cover the cost of travel.

We review every one of these points before your file is submitted.

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months with blank pages
  • Fully completed and signed Chinese visa application form

  • Hotel/accommodation booking covering the whole stay

  • For employees: employer letter, social security record and leave approval

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Because fingerprint (biometric) registration is required, the applicant must attend the Chinese Visa Application Centre in person. We take care of document preparation and appointment planning; you simply complete the submission on the day with a ready file.
For tourist (L) applications, flight and hotel reservations together with a travel plan are generally submitted instead of an invitation. If you are visiting a relative in China, an invitation or visit document may be requested; we clarify this during the pre-assessment.
Processing time varies with application volume, visa category and the consular calendar. We therefore recommend starting well before your travel date and inform you of current processing times before you apply.
Yes. What matters is reading the refusal reason correctly and preparing the new file so that it addresses that reason. We review your previous application and build a new file that strengthens the weak or missing points.
No. The authority to grant a visa lies exclusively with the consulate of the People's Republic of China, and no consultancy can guarantee approval. Our responsibility is to prepare your file completely and correctly so that your chances are maximised.
For minors, additional documents such as a birth certificate, copies of the parents' ID/passports and a notarised consent letter are required. We prepare the exact document list based on your child's age and travel arrangement.
