With its strong economy, high standard of living and long immigration tradition, Canada is one of the destinations Turkish citizens most often choose for both tourism and business. Because Türkiye is not on Canada's visa-exempt list, a Visitor Visa (TRV — Temporary Resident Visa) must be obtained before travelling. The process is fully online and biometric registration is mandatory. At Visa Via we manage every stage on your behalf — from preparing your file and submitting it to IRCC to tracking the outcome.

Visa Type Visitor Visa (TRV)
Application Online (IRCC portal)
Biometrics Mandatory (VAC appointment)
Validity Usually multiple entry

What Is a Canadian Visitor Visa?

The visitor visa (TRV) is an official sticker placed in your passport allowing Turkish citizens to enter Canada for tourism, family visits, business meetings or transit. Approved visas are usually issued as multiple entry and may be valid until your passport expires. The visa allows you to travel to Canada; the final decision to admit you is made by the officer at the border.

Main Application Types

  • Tourism: Sightseeing, holidays and short visits.
  • Family / friend visit: Visiting relatives living in Canada; an invitation strengthens the file.
  • Business visit: Meetings, trade fairs, conferences and negotiations.
  • Super Visa: Long-stay option for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Transit: Passing through Canada to a third country.

We determine which type fits your profile during the free pre-assessment.

Financial Standing and Ties

Canadian assessments centre on two questions: can you finance your trip and do you have strong reasons to return to Türkiye? Recent bank statements, proof of regular income, employment documents and evidence of your ties in Türkiye (family, property, work, education) are therefore essential. We recommend avoiding unexplained large deposits shortly before applying.

Biometric Registration

Once your application is submitted you receive a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL). With this letter you attend the Canada Visa Application Centre (VAC) to provide fingerprints and a photo. Biometrics are generally valid for 10 years, so a later application may not require them again. We plan the appointment and check your file before you go.

Online Application Process

Canadian applications are submitted digitally through the IRCC portal. Filling the forms consistently, uploading documents into the correct categories and, where useful, adding a letter of explanation can be decisive. We monitor the notifications in your account and make sure any request letter for additional documents is answered on time.

Common Mistakes

  • Incomplete or inconsistent travel history and address details.
  • Funds that are not proportionate to the length and plan of the trip.
  • Invitation letters missing information, or no status document for the host.
  • Failing to declare previous visa refusals — this has serious consequences.
  • Uploading documents to the wrong category or scanning them illegibly.

We check every one of these points before submission.

Required Documents

  • Passport valid for the trip with blank pages
  • Digital biometric photo meeting Canadian standards
  • Fully completed IRCC application forms
  • Bank statements for the last 4-6 months and proof of funds
  • For employees: employer letter, social security record and leave approval
  • For company owners: activity certificate, signature circular and tax certificate
  • For retirees: pension certificate and payment records
  • For students: student certificate and permission letter if applicable
  • Flight and accommodation plan with a day-by-day itinerary
  • For family visits: invitation plus the host's status and income documents
  • Documents showing your ties to Türkiye (title deeds, vehicle registration, family record)

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Türkiye is not on Canada's visa-exempt (eTA) list, so a Visitor Visa (TRV) must be obtained before travelling. The eTA applies only to nationals of visa-exempt countries.
Yes. After submission you receive a biometric instruction letter and must attend a Canada Visa Application Centre to provide fingerprints and a photo. Biometrics are generally valid for 10 years.
Approved visitor visas are usually multiple entry and may be issued until your passport expires. The length of each stay is decided by the border officer; six months is the common practice.
Yes. What matters is reading the refusal reason correctly and building the new file so that it addresses it. Previous refusals must always be declared on the form; concealing them counts as misrepresentation and has serious consequences.
No. The authority to grant a visa lies exclusively with Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC), and no consultancy can guarantee approval. Our responsibility is to prepare your file completely and correctly so your chances are maximised.
The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay far longer than a standard visitor visa. The host must meet an income threshold and the applicant must hold valid Canadian health insurance.
